I am a big time foodie and do love to cook for my dear husband. Here, I am writing down a few of the dishes that are must eats in monsoons.
Moong daal mangode
These spicy fritters are made from soaked green split moong dal and greens are perfect company to you during rain time chai.
I am not very sure if you have heard about this one. Trust me, the hot hot sizzling chocolate over the brownie or an icecream is going to melt your heart as well. Nothing can be more satisfying on a cold rainy day.
Oh! I am not talking about the green tea kind of stuff, but a full milk chai, the cutting one. Adding a piece of ginger, makes it special for monsoons.
When it is raining like cats and dogs and you are not able to go out to buy yourself a snack , all you need is few potatoes to make these thick salty treats.
A rainy view from your balcony and a hot piping strong coffee go hand in hand with each other, making the rainy day more romantic.
Rains and bhajiyaas are synonymous. All other veg pakoras on one side, but Onion pakoras or kanda bhajiya has their own importance. Spice it up with teekhi green chutney.
Mumbai’s favourite street food. A spicy batata vada, slathered with different chutneys and sandwiched between soft, buttered pavs. I bet, you can’t stop at one.
I am aware of the fact that I all of the above are equivalent to junks, but it’s okay once in a while. It’s not going to rain every day. Give counting the calories a miss and satisfy your taste buds. A little cheating is allowed when on a diet.
So gather some friends indoors and indulge in some gossip while it rains!!!
