Thankfully, she lives in a place where people are bit less bothered about others – Mumbai.
Yes, she is a single mom. The only mistake she committed was not that she made love with someone, but that she trusted him. A huge decision of bringing a life into this world and raising her, as a teenager requires a lot of courage. She is dealing with the laws of our country where it’s essential to mention father’s name in baby’s birth certificate.
She already had to deal so much while sharing the news and her decision with her family. She is a mother and nothing else matters more to her. She is struggling, trying to earn for herself and her daughter. Brave enough, I must say.
Then why we, as a society, have to give her more troubles? The hospital staff has always looked with questioning eyes at her as her check-up file had father’s name field left blank. But yesterday’s incident was enough to give nightmares to any mother. She was looking for a day care for her beautiful, lovely daughter as she had to attend her college. And a day care refused to admit her saying that a child like that can influence other children of the day care.
She is a small little girl of 9 months. Can she really influence anyone??
Yes, with her cute smile, she can only influence anyone to love her more…
Similarly, a divorcee (another friend of mine) is raising her two year old daughter all alone, working hard all day. It’s difficult for me to imagine the life she is leading. She literally has to run for everything. Be it money, food, travel or sickness. But our so called society is making things more difficult for her. She can’t go out with male friends, because the people aroundher talk, comment and does a lot more than talking. She says, it’s difficult to convince them that she is innocent. The ‘Kaun kya kahega’ keeps haunting her and she cannot have any ‘me-time’. And I believe, without ‘me time’ it can be really suffocating.
Through this blog I wish to send the message to each one out there that girls like these are bold enough to take such decisions in life. Support them by being their pillars with just your words of motivation. It will help them to make their world more beautiful and a place to live peacefully.
